Pharmacological action
Cetamol, containing active paracetamol, is a non-narcotic analgesic. It has a pronounced antipyretic and analgesic effect.
Pharmacokinetics
Cetamol is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and distributed to almost all tissues. The maximum therapeutic concentration in plasma is reached in 10-60 minutes. The therapeutic effect lasts for 2-4 hours. In therapeutic doses, paracetamol binds to plasma proteins in small quantities, and at high concentrations of the drug in plasma, it increases. The half-life is 1-3 hours. It is metabolized mainly in the liver and excreted in the urine as inactive metabolites. Less than 5% is unchanged.
Indications
As an antipyretic for acute respiratory diseases, influenza, childhood infections, post-vaccination reactions and other conditions accompanied by an increase in body temperature; – an analgesic for pain syndrome of weak and moderate intensity, including: headaches and toothaches, muscle pain, neuralgia, pain from injuries and burns. Fever of various origins (colds, post-vaccination fever, etc.).
